This is a bit of a 'note to self', written because I've just found the answer to something that's been confusing me.

To insert a line break into a markdown document, end a line with 2 or more spaces, then hit the return key. (Functionally, this is equivalent to <br> in HTML)

Not earth-shattering, but something I need to remember.
